Day 7of 7 of our Get Healthier Campaign

Breakfast- Berry Nice Smoothie

Raspberries are one of my favourite fruits so we always have a stash of frozen ones in the deep freeze as they make a pretty good smoothie too. I would have to rate this one pretty highly on our smoothie rating chart- it was delicious and the nuts and seeds on top gave it a nice extra crunch.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of frozen raspberries (ideally organic)
  • 2 frozen banana chopped
  • 10 ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup coconut water
  • 1 tablespoon wheatgrass
  • 2 tablespoons milled flaxseed
  • 1 heaped tablespoon goji berries
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • handful of mixed nuts
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds
  • 2 tablespoon desiccated coconut

Directions:

  1. Place the coconut water, ice  and frozen fruit into the blender. Blend on high until smooth. Add a little more water if  you need to thin it down a little.
  2. Add the wheatgrass and mix again.
  3. Pour into 2 glasses.
  4. Split the flax, goji berries, seeds, nuts and coconut in half and add to the top of each glass.
  5. Then sip away for a nutrient dense start to the morning.

We would love to hear your feedback so let us know if you try this what you think in the comments below.
